When BMW launched the R1200 motorbike range, it blended the dual functionality of sporty riding with a tourer style. A number of variations emerged from the R1200 series that evolved out of the previous R1150. The R1200R was known as the naked roadster, as it was lighter than its predecessors and able to deliver faster performance.
